Xeno 50 Mini or Beaphar Anti-Parasite?

Getting a new hog on Monday and just to be on the safe side we are quarantining her as a precaution as I would be distraught if anything happened to my Sugar.

Anyways as another precaution we are going to treat her for mites and most people recommend Xeno 50 Mini which the active ingredient being ivermectin. Today we have been driving to every known pet store near us to pick up some stuff for the new comer and noticed that many were selling Beaphar Anti-Parasite Spot On. The active ingredient for this one is also ivermectin.

Just wanted to know if there is a difference and will the Beaphar be ok as it means I do not have to wait for online deliveries.

We stock this in the shop, and I have used it on mine, it should be fine Smile

did you find a silent spinner? we cant get hold of them, only the flying saucers.

Thanks BB! Just needed a bit of reassurance as I don't want to harm the newbie.

Yes I did manage to get a wheel but ended up ordering it from EquineCanineFeline and after discount was only £16.20 so not a bad price at all. Also bought several other things today in preparation for Monday. Luckily I still have the flying saucer which will do as a temporary measure.

Where are you getting your new hog from? Just curious as I've never heard of anyone quarantining their hog unless they are from abroad.

Stronghold for Puppies & Kittens can also be used - it doesnt have ivermectin in it, can be picked up from the vet. I beleive dosage is 1 drop per 100gs

Bought it at a local pet shop but also seen them at Pets at Home.

It was about £5 for 4 pipettes.

One pipette (1 dose) apparently lasts 4 weeks and as AA said mites have a cycle of 5 weeks so I will be using two pipettes.

Going to give the 2 spare to Pammie for her new guy.

Works out cheaper than the Xeno 50 Mini which were £17 for 9 pipettes and 3 are needed for full treatment.

ok so 1 pippete lasts a week ?
and how many pippetes do you have to give one hog 2 ?

Use 1 pipette and then four weeks later use another pipette. 2 pipettes are used for the whole treatment.

Argh not long now! Will definately take her to the vet for a check up.

First thing Monday night is give her a bath and 1 pipette of that stuff. Hopefully she will start feeling better just from that.

Spent a bit today and will spend some more in the next month.

Twist the tip off and place drops evenly across their back between the spines until the pipette is empty.

Goody good, have to be extra nice to Ben now!

Just made a pouch and will make a few more.

Will also attempt a cube.
