Chinchilla sand

Post  Mindy on October 9th 2010, 12:12 am

I want to get Dave some Chinchilla sand and a box to put it in. What do you guys recommend? Where's the cheapest/best sand from and what kind of box do you use?
I've seen some nice Chinchilla ones but think the entrance is too hard to get into for a heggie.

Thanks

Amanda x

I'm going to go and get Butternut some today. I don't know how she will like it though she is so fussy.

Like AA, I also have a kitten litter tray with chin sand in Oz's playpen . . . far to messy for in his cage! lau

Oz has only had it for a few days though, so isn't too sure of it (or his playpen actually) but I'm hoping he'll like it once he gets used to it. big smile

I tried the sand last night and Butternut wasn't interested at all. I kept putting her in the tray and she kept climbing out. tongue
I tried again tonight the same thing!!!! I guess I'll keep trying everynight any suggestions?

I bought Rose some a while ago, she did the same, climbed out each time I put her in, it looked as though she knew she SHOULD be doing something, but couldn't figure out what! roll The sand is back in it's box, maybe we'll try again one day!!
