Wild hedgehogs and fleas

I have been told by many people that wild hedgehogs are riddled with fleas.

I have two nightly visitors, they come for their dinner and sit waiting by my back door! I would like to know, if they do have fleas, do the fleas do any harm? Would it benefit them for me to give them the once over and treat them for fleas or would they be better off left alone?

If they have lots of fleas then it is quite bad for them, alot of hogss don't have fleas though. It would be a good idea to get them and give them a once over, weigh them (looking at about 600/700g now), make sure they are nice and rounded etc. I can't see it doing any harm in treating the fleas but do not use any products that you would use for a cat or dog, we use this stuff, Just lightly puff it over them making sure it doesn't go in their eyes etc.

Also to add to that, do not use sprays whether they are aerosol or not.
