My OH is lactose intollerant (sp?) anyway he drinks Lacto-free milk and I have used that with ferrets, cats and dogs with no problems as it has the lactose removed. Not sure how it would fair up with hedgehogs though.

well cats are lactose intolerant so cat milk is made for that. Personally I wouldnt really bother as its not really something they need to have. I believe goats milk is used for hoglets if mum has rejected them.

If I had to choose milk to help feed babies I would choose Goats Milk. But if you're not in that position I really wouldnt bother as water is enough unless u have been told to do differently by e.g your vet?

Cat milk has very little amount of lactose as cats are lactose intolerant. My ferret is fine with it as well but iv heard tenrecs and hogs are not meant to have milk unless necessary? Though on a documentary my ma watched tonight it said their fine with it lol Smile what!!

goats milk or lactose free soya drink " looks like milk but they cant call it milk as it hasnt actually got milk in it " are the only ones hogs should have , or tenrecs , if it is a hoglet that needs feeding or needs a bit extra then goats milk or kitten replacment milk is used , i dont think the kitten replacement is the same as kitten milk so i wouldnt really recomend it .

if an adult then personally i would just use water , as they would in the wild for drinking .

cheers col
