Stick Insects?

Someone on a rabbit forum I go on has a friend who is thinking about getting a hoggie and wants to know if it is alright to feed them stick insects as treats.

I don't have a clue (I used to have pet stick insects when I was a kid, so the very idea is ) so I thought i'd ask to see if any of you know.

If it's indian stick insects, then be careful they haven't been fed on privet... it's toxic to most animals and could cause a reaction in hoggies.. I couldn't do it either, we've had them as pets as well and they're far too pretty and gentle an insect for me to consider as a feeder!!
