Alternative Litter Trays.

Post  pinktink on December 15th 2010, 9:41 am

Me again! Bet everyone is fed up of me asking questions on here now and I only joined yesteday!

I was just wondering if anybody has any alternative ideas for things to use as a litter tray? I have limited space left in my cage and wanted something quite skinny and long but cant think of anything suitable?

The only thing I can think of is a sill drip tray for plants like the ones below...

Do you think these would be ok?

He only does his business down one side of his cage anyway so i'm hoping if I put the tray there he will do it in that Smile

Thanks,

Rachel & Oscar.

realistically you can use anything for a litter tray as long as its free from sharp edges and easily wipeable however your better off using something you can stand the wheel in as it will help with litter training and they often toilet when they wheel so it will catch the spills also

try not to have too much in the cage also as they do like a little room to move about and you can rotate toys and things every so often to prevent boredom - a house of sorts, bowls, litter tray and wheel, tube and a couple of balls/small cuddly toy is plenty enough for a cage and then the rest can be used for a playpen for when Oscar comes out to play in a night (he might be a cuddly hog and not want to play even!)
