Alternative to a litter tray

Post  jessybean90 on January 14th 2011, 6:09 pm

Hi there guys,

My hedgie is approaching 12 weeks now - my precious little albino Roxy Smile I am considering getting a litter tray, but all the litter trays in Pets at Home are too big really! Has anyone else used...I don't know, maybe a plate or shallow bowl with substrate in?!

Although...in the last couple of days she has actually started pooping in the same little spot in the corner of her cage - not even in her wheel at night! So it may not even be worth the bother of litter training! What might have triggered her to decide to poo in one spot without my help!

Jess

kitten litter trays are best - ebay is a good place to get them from - I think some people have also used baking trays and shallow plastic trays

she could have just decided thats where she will poo for a moment lol

I've seen someone use shallow cardboard boxes before.the ones that when you go to the supermarket have the tins in.but they'd need changing regularly as the cardboard would get wet after the substrate did.where I saw it sand was being used in them and just being used as a litter tray.don't know if anyone else has ever seen or heard of that :s
