iv heard lots of good things about chinchilla sand, how do people use it though, as in, do you put it in a litter tray? is it designed to be pooped in as i believe they roll around in it?? confused.com.

yeah, that sounds about the same. Less whole-tray cleaning maybe, depends how deep the sand is x

so does it clump together with urine, or does it just absorb into the sand ?! x

Re: chinchilla sand
it clumps just enough to be able to seive out the urine in lumps but not enough to cause issues if it was accidentally ingested x and in case you considered normal sand...dont!
I tried it and it ends up like a disgusting urine soup!! The chinchilla sand isn't technically a sand, it is more of a fine clay so it absorbs and clumps whereas normal sand doesn't absorb at all, it just gets saturated!
