Viv Cupboard conversion plans/advice needed :)
Hi guys..
Right. Ive been looking at all your vivs and conversations, and now im dead inspired. ha.
So, I looking to covert this unit (its about 5.5ft long):

Obviously with the help of the boy, as Im not much of a DIY master. But Once the structures sorted, I'll be making all pretty and homely.
So, We've got the structural stuff sorted in our heads. swap the drawers over with the left door, so she'll have 2/3s of the unit. I'll be putting a second level in there. Glass fronts in the doors ofcourse. Few vents, a light and bits like that. Can anyone think of anything im missing, or maybe not thinking of with the build, before I start destroying the pretty unit. ha.
Thanks in advance guys

me too.. And I'll be sure to get pics up as soon as i make any progress. Assuming its not a complete fail anyway
I've also seen a dead sweet little boy pig in a shop near me today. He's been there a month, and whilst i hate pet shops, i hate leaving him there more. luckily the guy i talked to used to keep them himself, so he seemed to know abit. anyways, point it.. seems like i might need another house if i get him
and thanks gnj4eva_2009 - dead worried im missing something vital. ha x

the problem with pet shops is your going to buy the hog because you feel sorry for it there, then they are just going to buy another one in, i know its hard but really unless there is something terribly wrong its really best not to buy from shops. best thing to happen would be for them to have it in for so long they dont bother restocking.

true as to what faith has said.also you wont know much about him,how old he is etc.you wont know his tempremant and how friendly he is till you get him home.atleast where he is hes getting the right care by the sounds of it.rather than being in a pet shop where the pet shop isnt knowledged or looking after him properly.obviously its your choice at the end of the day.but at the end of the day it just encourages them to buy more.i learnt the hard way.atleast with buying from a breeder and getting pictures, updates etc you get a feel as to what the hedgehog will be like.which in turn when you get your hedgehog home makes you have a better bond if youve been kept in the loop through it growing up.where as youd be going to a pet shop buying a hedgehog and not knowing much etc.only an opinion

yeh, i do see what you mean there. i asked if i could take it for less than the asking price as he's been there a month. at first they said no as they were struggling to get more. then they called back and agreed to what id offered. maybe they realised there isnt enough interest round here and just want rid. to be fair to the hedgie though, he had a brilliant temprement.. i got him out and he was dead friendly and confident. the guy in the shop aparently used to breed them himself, and (despite the odd comment about how easy breeding them is and things, that worried me) he seemed to know what he was talking about. and a little bit about this hedgie specifically x
