Insect mix containing shrimp?

I've seen a few insect mixes available that contain shrimp. I know that our hedgies aren't supposed to be fed fish but would dried shrimp be ok? The only insects I feed are dried mealworms and once tried a can'o'crickets but Pyg didn't like them and I'm just wanting to branch out.

Ooo I really dont know! I suppose the answer would probably be no but i'm sure somebody more knowledgable will be along to answer properly soon

I want to try my two on the can'o crickets but they seem a bit expensive when they might not even like them! x

And once they're open they don't last that long, the can'o'crickets that is. Mine got covered in like white lumps within a week which is quick considering how many you'd feed a hedgie.

On the plus side they don't smell half as bad as I expected!

I just wasn't sure if shrimp would be counted as a fish coz it's got legs and stuff so it's kind of like a watery insect?!

Urgh! Maybe I wont try the can'o crickets after all!

I suppose shrimps are shellfish so does that mean they are classed as fish? Even though they look nothing like fish I'm confusing myself now lol.

I seeing a similar question on the American forums and some do feed shrimp, I think they also feed fish sometimes too though

my can o crickets last ages - i have kept them in the fridge. although only one of my boys likes them

Have you tried can o pillars? Both my boys went mad for them

Hmm, might try the 'pillers. Maybe I just got a dodgy can but they went bad really quick. On the other hand Pyg didn't seem keen so there's not a lot of point in me getting more. I do want to keep their diet as varied as I can though. Thanks for the responses guys. x

I think shrimps a no to.when finding out about hedgehogs not allowed fish I first found out about the shrimp.I'm sure anyway.
