deep litter tray

Post  Domi on May 1st 2011, 6:48 pm

does anybody uses a litter tray that has a lid or deep sides? Neo is a digger and he just gets the sand everywhere, i was wondering if a covered up tray with a hole to get in would work? something like a igloo or chinchilla nesting box but bigger? any suggestions?

You don't have to put sand in it, you could use kitchen roll for example that wont go everywhere.

The only problem that I can see with a lidded tray is the dust and possiblity of respitory issues from it. If you managed to find a deep sided one, even with a curved inwards sides, with an entrance low enough for the hog to get in - but an open roof...then I can't see any immediate problems, and if you do find one like that, let me know, because I'll want one too big smile

Kitchen roll is really stinky though and needs changed every day. I used it for a while and went back to the cat litter/sand
