Finally finished my viv stack!
OK so its still in my car because its too heavy for me to lift it on my own lol
I cannot wait to put the hogs in it. I think I am far too excited about their new home but it has taken me a week to build.
I will take some photos when its actually inside and all set up. I just had to share my joy at the fact it is done.
It has taken a long time and caused a few arguments between me and my bf but Im glad we did it as it will be so much better for them.

Re: Finally finished my viv stack!
100 x 50 x 40 cm - l x b x h
Thats per individual cage
Then theres a platform at about 20cm up and its about 50 x 40 cm
Its not massive but a bit bigger than a zz2

Re: Finally finished my viv stack!
Well it had to b bigger than a zz to be worth building.
To be fair it takes up less floor space than 2 zz2s. And now i have a cage than a csw will actually fit in lol.
Took forever to do though but we were doing 2 of them. My bfs is a bit different to mine as he has mesh on the back of his rather than wood so that the hogs get enough light. His sits on a bench that overlaps a window.
But mine has cool woodland stickers so its way better lol.
Hows urs going enigma?

Re: Finally finished my viv stack!
em yea its getting there...don't really get alot of time to work on it so most work gets done at the weekend, i'd say it'll all be ready to go in a week or so
Got all the materials (other than the varnish, sticky back plastic, sealant) and the basic construction done, just takes a while to do these frigging dove-tail joints by hand lol

Monty uses the wooden sticks to climb up. I wanted to make sure they could manage that before i bought some for Pan as well so he cant actually get up onto his ledge yet. Haven't decided if this is the way i wanna do it though as they take up alot of space.
Yeah they are stickers. They're kids wall stickers from ebay/amazon.

Re: Finally finished my viv stack!
its looking good well done you
I like the idea of the ledge . I wish I was handy with things like that
How do u find the straw house? One of my new hedgie owners bought one for a baby, but I asked them to take it back due to concerns of the straw becoming loose and wrapping around limbs etc.
Does anyone else use them. I'm not asking as a criticism but out of genuine interest for future reference
