bathing
OK I know I'm asking really basic questions here but I dont want to make the mistake of assuming these should be treated the exact same way as hedgies hence all the questions
OK bathing
I'm going to have to bath my 2 , they seem to have v dry skin , some of this I think could be dust related due to the Aspen they arrived boy, boy is that dusty.
I assume the same rules apply to Tenrecs as Hedgies with bathing.
Their nails are really curled under, depending on how the bath goes I may do the nails or leave it to the vet this time round. I'm being a little cautions due to not knowing thier personalities yet and not knowing if they will bite if I try to bath them etc
I'm not normally this cautions/weary but I've seen these guys yawn, small teeth they are not

Re: bathing
lol their teeth are massive!!! and apparently when they do bite they have a tendancy to hang on and not let go easily!
Mine dont mind being bathed they just waddle about and also their nails are a lot longer and curlier than aph but this helps them grip when climbing. They generally arent aggressive animals though - more a bit stupid than anything

Re: bathing
I bathed mine, when it had dry skin & also when he had an abcess to keep him clean
Re the nails, if you hold them in your hand they cling on to your fingers & you will see the nails kind of go round cos they use them to climb - thats how I judge if they need cutting
