Re: not doing much
totally typical!!
They eat MINISCULE amounts and mine have never seemed very active unless you get them out and they 'come to' and then they are well active and like meandering about
its really freaky when you are used to aph as they are quite different but its fine

Re: not doing much
brill I was hoping this was the case
Ive had the 6 days now and no signs of a musky smell or any smells for that matter. I wondering if this is down to the Carefresh etc, if so I will stick to this for the tenrecs. U can also buy it in a grey colour so it would look better than white.
Having said all that its early days and I'm not sure how soon you all get the muscky smell after you have done a deep clean

Re: not doing much
Blimey mine must be the exception then they have a wheel and they use it every night and they make squeeky noises all the time. They dont eat that much but they do love crickets and chase them round the vivs. The one on its own that was supposed to be female but is a male is much quieter but i have him out loads as i feel sorry for him on his own.

Re: not doing much
Well Tobermory (Toby for short) doesn't seem to eat alot but he did have a huge poo - for a little tenrec - the other day on hubby so I know he is eating. unless I wake him up he doesn't seem to get out of his log until after midnight! But I am sure he is fine as he is active when out on the sofa and looks healthy enough

Re: not doing much
My middle daughter is looking into tenrecs. She thinks she might like one instead of an APH as she doesn't like being spiked, lol, but likes the hogs.
i have read Cols info on them and think it may be a good idea but im not 100% sure.
It would have to live in a Viv under my APH, would this be ok for one?
