argh well we got a good result from her mouth but not so good on the suspected pregnancy front - she got x-rayed which showed 'something' ... really not sure because it was very faint but she is either pregnant or has polycyctic ovaries so I have to give her a little longer and then go back to the vets for another scan to either see if whatever is there has developed further (i.e babies) or if not then she is going to need surgery to see whats going on inside :-(

well i am currently on pins - my vet has had Ruby for 4 hours now and I havent heard anything yet - shes gone in for a ceasarian or possibly spay/removal of whatever shouldnt be there depending on what they find when they operate on her so getting rather anxious now

Poor Ruby as she had to come into work with me this morning before being dropped off in my break mid morning to the vet) so shes going to have had a long day

well - I am rather gutted lol - Ruby thankfully came through her surgery really well and is fine however she cost me £120 and she had ........................

LIPOSUCTION!!!!!!

LOL - my vet gave my tenrec liposuction - can you believe it?!!!

When he operated on her he found no dead babies, abnormalities, tumours and her reproduction tracts looked healthy and fine just she had an absolute excess of fat all concentrated in that one area - he doesnt know what the xray showed up because it vaguely looked like 2 skulls and 2 spinal cords but there was nothing that resembled that when he looked inside - so he removed some of the fat due to the risk of fatty liver disease etc and its a mystery as to why she suddenly blew up like that to mimic pregnancy - he did say that they do store fat ready to hibernate but it was an abnormal amount of fat and as my male is perfectly normal (hes put weight on to hibernate but an appropriate amount) hes at a bit of a loss as to why Rubys like it - so its all rather bizarre really - thankfully Ruby doesnt seem too disturbed by it all and I'm still in shock that I have paid my vet to give my tenrec plastic surgery lol!
