Toby should be called Houdini
Well came home the other morning after a night at work to be greated by hubby's words of don't freak out but the tenrec has escaped, but I've found him he is in the fire place - we have an electric fire with a fire surround which we had to dismantle to get him out - my Kev said he had searched for him and then thought 'it's windy listen to the wind in the chimney' and then remembered we don't have a working chimney & real fireplace it was actually toby having a little huff.
Well he is no worse for his escapade I did tell the dog he was no good as toby would have had to walk round the living room - where the dog sleeps - to get to the fire and Kev didn't get woken by the dog
I gave him a good check over as his viv is on a cabinet and it is quite a drop to the floor and also he was wedged in tight in the fireplace, but he really seems no worse for his night out on the tiles.

If you had seen how small the gap was he had wedged himself in it was lucky he huffed so was found. He is no worse for wear after his exploration although he did eat all his diner so had obviously worked up an appetite
