Haha, they certainly know what they like dont they? I put a piece of melon in Buttercup's dish every single night, hoping that one night she might try it, but no, there it is every morning, still there, and the dish all around it licked clean..

I am like you Soo love, I don't give up but just keep trying him with different things. By not eating his veg Paul says he is a typical little child LOL!! Put some mince in last night and there was absolutely no evidence of it having been there this morning - definately a favourite. Oh yes, I tried him with a raspberry too and that was left untouched.
It is so nice to hear from friends all about their hoggies favourites.

Re: What are your hoggie's favourites?
So far (I've only had Rocky 3 weeks)...
Absolutely loves mince, definately his favourite thing ever invented! Has also enjoyed some mashed potato, broccolli, cauliflower, scrambled egg and he likes apple. He will sometimes eat some peas, but not overly impressed with them.
I've tried him with carrot twice, first time never touched it, second time he ate a little bit but left most of it. He's not a fan a sweetcorn either and has left that untouched when I've tried it. And surprisingly he turns his nose up at mealies as yet, but I'm gonna keep trying them overnight with him.
Out of interest, how much 'treat meal' should I be giving him, as he's onyl 10 weeks old, I've just been giving him about a teaspoon as I didn't want to upset his stomach with too much of a rich meal

Re: What are your hoggie's favourites?
Oh bless him - I just cook up little bits of mince each day, some I hand feed (with a few mealies) and the rest goes into his bowl at night. I haven't tried him with mashed potato but I am going to. I am not giving up on the fruit and veggies, in the hope that he may eat some one day. I put a little pear in last night and that was left. Scrambled egg I am gonig to try him with again but he wouldn't eat it when he was younger but our tastes change don't they, so it may well be the same for hoggies.
Thank you for your kind reply Mr Bee dear.

Sonic doesn't really like veggies or mealies, but he does like chicken and mashed potato!

I either dry fry or boil the mince.
Sugar loves lamb and egg! She is a good girl and will also eat her veg. However Squiggs just mouths the food and then spits it out but she goes mad for mealies.

Re: What are your hoggie's favourites?
Thank you for your kid reply Jo79 love and yes, it would be graat if my little one would eat more of a variety. I am concerned about him having the same things all the time, he needs plenty of variable nutrition.
Today we are having roast lamb. I will put a little of the best bits in his bowl tonight and just hope he eats it. There will be biccies and a little fruit too, the latter I know will be left but I have to keep trying.

Re: What are your hoggie's favourites?
I am lucky with Rolo as so far she has eaten everything I have given to her bar egg. Her favourites are definitely live mealworms which she eats so quickly that I am surprised she actually has time to taste them! Mince and mash is a big hit followed by apple, banana and chicken. Rolo also enjoyed her first Christmas dinner of turkey, mash and carrot.
It is fun trying different foods and watching her sniffing at new foods before deciding rather cautiously to give them a try.
It's been great reading all the different foods everybody has tried so I will soon give some of them a go.

Re: What are your hoggie's favourites?
Thank you for your kind reply love and I am so glad your hoggie will eat most things.
Last Sunday, Lewie had lamb with carrot and parsnip mashed together but where some of the lamb was eaten the carrot and parsnip wasn't.
The last couple of days he has had mince which he will always eat but I am gong to try him again with some scrambled egg. I haven;t given it to him since he as a baby so I think it maybe worth another try.
Thank you to all of you who have been kind enough to respond to my post.

Re: What are your hoggie's favourites?
I love Oh Holy Night because I love the way a good singer can hit that one note, "oh night, di-VINE...." If done right, that can send chills down my spine.
I also love "Mary, Did You Know." I think one of my all time favorites tho is Bing Cosby and David Bowie doing "Little drummer Boy."
