Re: Feeding qs
I feed more like 5 mealworms a night as they are fairly fatty. I feed more to runner hogs and less to lazy hogs, depends on what size they are (if they are a healthy size). I also hide a few dried inside kongs so they have to work for them
Also I feed live mealies in a forage box but thats just me - for unsociable hogs I save them for bonding.

Re: Feeding qs
Millipedes aren't good because of the toxins they can produce. I'd also avoid things like the stick insects, beetles, katydids, springtails, centipedes and spiders for a variety of reasons including toxins, danger to the hog, price, and so forth.
I'd also avoid flies, for practical reasons (you'd have to kill them, or they'd just flutter off out of the cage.
I've tried the mealworms, butterworms, calci-worms, waxworms, dubia roaches and discoid roaches. I plan to try the crickets and buffalo worms at some point. I would try the silkworms, but Bodhi doesn't like grub-like insects (butterworms/calci-worms/waxworms - and every other hog I know of seems to think waxworms are the best thing ever due to the very high fat content...she ignores them).
I've also used his roach substrate, roach food, wheat bran, insect mesh and beetle jelly.
Because Rick does everything, from feeding, to scooping out and packing orders, to customer service, if you email about something, you get a proper answer - he's also good for asking questions, and is fairly quick (every email I've written has been answered within 24 hours; every order I've placed has been dispatched by the next day - excluding weekends, when it goes out first thing Monday). Genuinely nice, helpful guy with well fed, good quality critters, hence why I'm happy to recommend him - and plan to get my millipedes from him, soon as I've saved up the moneys

Re: Feeding qs
Calci-worms are live and turn into black soldier flies (which are extremely ugly/scary looking!). I think mine lasted two weeks, and they look like a sort of hardened waxworm. I wouldn't bother with them again myself, but then Bodhi doesn't like grub-like insects (and the flies would be hard for her to catch).
If you want to trial a livefood, but aren't ready for mealworms, try waxworms. They are high in fat, so use sparingly, but most hogs seem to like them, you don't have to feed them, and they don't require refridgeration. Unless you have a Bodhi-a-like (ie refusing to eat grubs), they will get you started. They are pale, a little squishy to the touch, but aren't wriggly, or 'scary'. They look a little like the invert version of the Stay Puft marshmellow man
