Live food guide?
I really think a sticky on live foods would be useful!!
*Which foods are suitable and which aren't?
*Is it just a case of buying and feeding or do they need any sort of feeding or preparation?
*How are the live foods stored (where and what in)?
*Where to buy them from?
*Any other relevant info?

Re: Live food guide?
I can send you the nutrient values if you let me know your email address.
Depends on the type regarding whether they need preparation/feeding. Most need feeding. Waxworms, calciworms and butterworms don't that I know of. Mealworms, morio worms, roaches, locusts and crickets do. Morios need preparation, namely their heads being removed prior to feeding.
Depends on the person as to how you store live food. I keep my mealworms in Sterilite tubs in value range porridge oats, and value range wheatabix, and sprinkle on grated carrot occasionally. Same with the mealworm beetles, but they also get bug gel. Aliens get put in their own tub to pupate, this has a thin layer of the substrate, but no food/water as they don't need it. Roaches are kept in exo terra tubs or curv'e'keepas (babies can get out of the exo terras, so adults and infants are kept in the higher sided curv'e'keepas, the rest in the exo terras to seperate breeding colony from feeding colony). Locusts needed to be in a curv'e'keepa, otherwise they can jump out.
Mealworms can be kept in the fridge, but need to be fed once a week - I found that mine got damp though. This does stop them alien-ing for those that don't want to breed.
Buying, I've already answered that one - Rick's, Livefoodforgood, or similar.
A sticky would be nice, but there are too many variables really.

A sticky would be good, although someone would have to find the time to write it based on common knowledge/fact as opposed to individual opinion, then a mod or admin would have to have the time to read through/edit and approve it.
That's what i think anyway as i am sure a sticky on different forms of heating in more detail was suggested at one point in time and a response as such was given x

I use that one as my reference, and point people to it if they ask the question. It answers plenty.
For live food, because it depends on what you want to feed, and how you want to keep them...it ranges. There are plenty of guides out there, googling is your friend really - that is how I learnt, I didn't use this forum for live food.

Re: Live food guide?
I've tried my hog with mealies a couple of times while handling, and even left them in his ZZ2 overnight, but he is just totally uninterested in them so far!
So now I've got a big tub of mealies and nobody to eat them!
