Another heating question
At the moment I have been using a heat mat but not had the house heating on, as not really been cold in the house. If when i put the heating on the room reaches the required temp would home heating be enough without the heat mat (was considering maybe putting her snuggle pad in as well jus in case). So that would be home heating and snuggle pad. I have a digital thermometer that records highest/lowest temps in there so would know exact temp, as my heating is storage heaters :( Wot temp is ideal, too hot, too cold just so i know. I thought coldest was 18c/65f and nice was 24c/75f was about right but no idea to hot.
Thanks for any input
Also she doesnt tend to sleep on her heat mat anyway, so would it make a difference turning heat mat of

Re: Another heating question
Hey there,
I was thinking exactly the same thing the other day. We don't have a heatmat for our lil hog, we only have a lil waterbottle covered in a fleece (so he doesnt burn himself) we tried giving it to him, but he tends to get away from it as far as he can and sleep somewhere else.
So since then we dont really use any internal heating in his cage. Just keep an eye on ur hedgie, room temperature might just be fine for her. What kind of cage do you have? Because sometimes with the wired cages, there is alot of draught. Our hedgie sleeps in a little house with alot of fleeces, so even if it gets a lil cold outside, he doesn't loose much heat while he sleeps.
