New Set up project

After looking at the setup picture my creative nature kicked in and a new enclosure started to be designed, i LOVE the converted funiture enclosures with an upstairs and downstairs sooooo ebay here i come.......

Picking it up tonight, it cost me £1.04 ! BARGIN!

its huge:height 53.5" (136cm)

width 47.25" (120cm)

depth 16.75" (43cm)

Needs work, drilling, sawing, cleaning DECORATING!!! nees ventalation and i want to cover all the inside with stickyback plastic to make it wipe clean!

Love it! Im mid decorating my project Love that feeling when the instinct kicks in to do it up! x

ooo post a photo! im gunna have Pablo up the top and Beth in the bottom! Im gunna go blue with white spots i think and pink with white spots, so they are matchy matchy! i want lil hedgehog stickers and their names in there too!

Wow what a bargain! you're very lucky. I've been after something like this for ages but when I search on Ebay it just comes up with very pricey exoterra vivs etc.
How far did you have to go to pick it up?

Hey, i have to travel an hour, its 30 miles but across london! but so worth it, its practically free, and when i sell the zz i will make the pretrol and conversion costs back! will keep you posted on the progress! soooooo excited,

Mine is side by side.Im havign Holly on the left and Porridge on the right Secret garden sponge painted theme for Holly and Im thinking space or military for Porridge.

I've seen few nice cabinets.
I hinted to my dad "Oh dad you know how to work Ebay can you look out for a huge cabinet for my Degu's or my hedgehog that we can convert"
Hehehe.. now I have planted the seed and my dad's already been looking at buying different sheets of wood and observing Maisies current vivarium to see how well built it is - I'm thinking he will build me my own the way I want.
I'm so inspired now looking through different set ups, especially all the Degu setups people have made.

This website is very detailed on making your own wooden homes for Degu's although I'm sure you could follow the same examples when creating a hog home too and the pictures all throughout the page are really inspiring.

I'm looking forward to seeing it as that's a cracker of a cabinet you've managed to get it's massive!
What are you planning to do with the other two levels?
Possibly a two story mansion for each hog?

Hello, sorry yes two sories each so i need to constuct a ramp beteen the floors! i looked for ages for a case with 4 shelved lol! Alternitily its a HUGE cabinet i could get two more hogs lol

Heres the first part on decorating i have done, sooooo much more to do before they can move in, the biggest task is getting it upstairs!

New silent spinners have been ordered and fleeces!

Talking of getting it upstairs, my dad finally finished my custom built Degu cage!
Only took him two days to do and took forever to get upstairs as it was VERY heavy.

OH ON! the silent spinners dont fit, even tho the unit is huge! GRRRRRRRRRR gunna send them back and get the flying sauser wheels instead!

could you just move the shelf above / below up or down to give the height needed?

You could get Crittercribs wheels. They are 12" high so much smaller than the silent spinners and they're great.
