nail ripped out! urgggg

Hey Guys,

Thought I was on a roll with lilys nails, she is my grumpy rescue hoggy. Well as I was clipping one she popped and has ripped it out or its been clipped v short. I feel awful!!!!!!!!!! She went into a ball so I couldnt really see. I've made her paddle in a salt bath and changed her bedding/cleaned wheel to limit infection. There was minimal bleeding tbh. Lily only poos and pees in her litter tray never in her wheel. I just feel so bad. She is so jumpy so I blame her lol! just thought I'd share for anyone else who has done this or does it in future. I'll keep a close eye on it too.

oh poor both of you...guilt is horrible when you know it was not your fault.

nails are a pain even without hog being grumpy,but have to be done

update- its just cut short, gave her some yummy live mealies to say sorry, she is totally fine

Aww, how is Lily now? Short is better then completely ripped out, but still not great. Just spoil her for the next few days. I can imagine you must have felt very guilty and awefull, I bet she is over the shock and scare of it faster then you as well.

Just give her some extra cuddles as well.

Lily is completely fine now thanks. I moved her out of her wooden lodge into her new igloo like my other two. She seems quite happy. She is so grumpy but boy do I love her!!!

Good to hear she is doing so well. I am sure her nail will be back and long soon. Hope she likes her iglo, my Bramles was not really keen on her iglo, she has a wooden hide out now.
