so sorry to hear about leo

that hand looks more like ringworm to me, and if that was my hand would i be handling anything? I DONT THINK SO!! would you?

i also have it on good authority that the ringworm has come from her german imported hogs, id like to know how that can happen when they are still supposed to be in quarantine, lets face it we all know they never were. i think this situation should be made as public as possible, thats the only way people are going to stop thinking she is the excellent breeder she thinks she is.
we all know she is a liar, she cant help herself, i feel sorry for all her hogs and other animals that are gonna be infected and shes not treating. has she actually taken anything to the vets?

have to say im not suprised to hear her house is a shit hole, my house is not exactly buckingham palace but i wouldnt dare let anyone in if i thought it wasnt clean. when you have alot of animals you have to clean theres no way around it. sounds like one of those scenes from life of grime

ian and julie i am on just sorting your registration out now, chaz if you want yours registering to let me know. i now have all the information that is available so its not a problem

She refuses to take anything to the vets.
She lied to us saying that after a lengthy telephone conversation with her specialist vet he doesnt see the need to see any of her animals.
BUT
She said he is supplying her with some treatment to be on the safe side.

Our vet said NO vet would do an over the phone consultation or prescribe medication without first seeing the patient.
We had to sign a waiver when we saw oiur vet as none of the medications used are designd specifically for pygmy hogs and as such do carry a risk to the animal.

Could this be lie 2984.

When she first got gliders, I gave her the name of a good vet, she supposedly booked them in to be snipped (she posted all over the american forums saying so) - I spoke to the vet the following wekk and lo and behold - they'd never heard of her!!!

I wouldn't actually put it past her to never have taken any of her animals to the vets at all!!

this is really worrying!!! Something has to be done - people will buy her hoglets if they dont know - I have seen her on RFUK and wouldnt have thought anything off her other than the few odd things coming to light recently (Faith's imported thread for one) but otherwise people are going to have the 'ahhh her hogs are lovely and friendly - she must be a good breeder then' etc etc mentality

If possible I would like to find out the wearabouts of Leo and Pickle's sister.
All we heard from Shell was that a guy bought her for his very young daughter. She was the reason we tried to warn shell in the first place. I would hate to think that a very young girl is going to have to go through what my wife Julie and Chaz are going through.

Chaz your itching WILl get a lot worse than it is now. Cover it up with a light gauze to stop spores spreading. Julie has just broke out into a second patch close to the first one.

Post  chazybabe on November 16th 2008, 6:10 pm

Well when she rang me up to say about treatment ect she offered to pay for medication said he wouldnt need avet just the cream (or w,e kind of stuff it is) and i could get this myself and she rememberse me, or she would send some off someone that gave her some!

I also have every email she has sent me since day 1 of contact when i said i would like to reserve a hoglet, she said that i would be getting a igloo thing or pouch and other things as well as registered and having full paper work none of which i have seen.

As you may or may not know apparently Pickle had to see a specialist vet and have scrappings because he had some sorta skin infection.

Heres a bit of 1 email

"Hi Chaz
well good news and nothing very serious was wrong with pickle.
The vet confirmed my suspicion of a bacterial skin infection and has put him on anti biotics.
She says that the quills should grow back but there is a small chance they may not,so i was going to suggest we see how he gets on and in a couple of weeks we should know for sure and then the decision lies with you.
Cholet had her litter today so if you wasnt sure about pickle i would be happy to give you the pick of her litter.
I have the vet receipt so you can see he was seen and treated as stated.I will let you know of his progress and you can make a final decision in a week or so."

Ian and Julie did you see the other hoglets? As she has never mentioned them since and there not advertised anywhere or on her website..?!?!

Another bit of email..

"Hi Chaz
just thought i would up date you on pickle.
Unfortunately poor little pickle is having to visit the vet tomorrow as he has lost some quills and his skin appears sore.
I think it's best i tell you everything that goes on with your boy as i'm not one of these breeders that hides information owners are entitled to.
I will be taking pickle to the not so local exotic vet in the morning for his 11.30am appointment.
And of course provide you with all the information the vet gives aswell as the relevant paper work to confirm when i deliver him.
It's not likely to be anything serious but when they are so small and venerable you can't help but worry."

Saw no paper work!!

"He will also come with his birth certificate, lineage and care pack and also guarantee."
All i got was a blanket and a box of whiskers kitten food, when i asked about the rest apparently was all going throught the system and would be coming to me directly..LOL did it Feck!

Grrr!

Thats the photo of himwith his "sore and suspicious thing he went to vets for at 4 weeks."

Do you have any idea of a name, a first name even - and that's to everyone, not just Ian and Julie!!

I'm going to go through all my sales emails for around the time Chaz ordered her first pouch and see if there are any names there that I don't recognise as members of forums - I guess there's a small chance that they may have ordered a pouch for their baby!

edit: Jeez!!! Thats one hell of a sore..... I have a sneaky suspicion that seeing as HH would very likely know the other hogs from Germany were infected that she's tried to clear them herself!!

You are quite within your rights to request the details of her vet so that your own vet has the information of previous treatments given (if any!) - If she refuses, I'm sure the RSPCA would persuade her t part with the info!!

And Lou, yeah, I knew straight off she hadn't got them done... just another of my bug bears with her, but hey... I'm just a vindictive cow who tried to make her look bad - like I needed to try!! Wink

thats quite a big patch of lost quills, i would bet on that being ring worm. ive only ever known of one APH to have it and that lost all its quills

how come she has cream from a friend if she doesnt have ringworm?
get yourself to the docs and get the treatment they suggest, they are the professionals not her or her mate, you need the exact correct treatment for it to be effective.
i had it once, and it itched like hell, got it when i worked around cows and sheep.

i have the name of the other owner terry, ill pm it you as its not fair to drag them in without permission

Thanks Faith... wasn't actually after it for me, more for Ian and Julie... I take it they know the situation if you know who they are!!

Chaz, I know it's hard, but try not to stress out about it - ringworm's horrible, but it's curable, you know about it and you can get it treated - for your sake and Pickles, try to relax and take care of you both!

- and I'm in no way trying to detract from the seriousness of the fact that you've been sold a sick hoglet that has made you ill, I can't type my full feelings on the matter because mod or no mod, I'd be banned!! lau

Its not so much that im used to being ill and the likes its the fact if she had just done things right from the start and not lied i might not feel so bad about it all, its just iv likely to of infected all my animals (and heres a fair few) and my parents and th bf, and friends too! As i didnt even realise what the rash was for few days as and then she told me! And i was like "oh *******" and the likes.. wasnt sure what to say to her as she made it all out to be Ian and Julie and said she wasnt going to offer them the treatment she had me as they had kicked up a fuss on the other forum!

Re: The Ringworm Story So Far.

Post  Furbutz on November 16th 2008, 6:42 pm

Oh so she's happy to risk poisoning Pickles but not Leo!! lau - Sorry! - I can't believe her sometimes!!! - She has no right to fob you off with her lotions and potions, she should have done the decent thing and told you to bill her for the treatment!!

You both need to keep all emails to and from her and print off the HC thread (she's very good at having threads that aren't in her favour disappear!!) and then decide where you want to go with it.... I'd say you have a very good case wither with trading standards, enviromental health or the small claims court, but it comes down to whether you're prepared to go that far with it!!

Either way, she'll will have convinced herself that none of it is her fault and you'll never change that!!

I've just gone through all of my records and have nothing at all from them, not even an enquiry for hoglets.... I doubt they're on RFUK because there's been no response to her thread, she advertises on the pet classifieds though so they may have found her that way!! sad
