Hi, finally got all the bits through the post for Elvis' zoozone and playpen for when he arrives. Didn't realise the sofa and bed were sooo big! Got them free though so can't complain lau

Don't think I will have all the bits in his play pen at the same time as there doesn't seem to be much floor space but will alternate them each night.

Got the fantastic tunnel and pouch made by Faith which i'm sure he will love as much as we do.

He's also got a litter tray in his play pen to have either chinchilla sand or the finacard to play and forage in.

Any ideas or changes that any one thinks will improve it, I want it to be perfect for when he comes home.

P.S I know he can't have the wheel until 12 weeks old but thought i'd put it in the photos.

We ve gone for the wide barred cage at the moment until we can afford a stack of 4 vivs. We only have Holly at the moment but shes made me completely fall for hogs!

Her hogitat is nothing special, im still finding new things out about what to put in etc. She has a heat pad and thermostat on the way..its getting chilly!

All of the above hogitats are fab, given me some great ideas!

I cant remember if I have posted this hoggle home here before. My dad made it for me, originally for my jirds but when they passed away, it was adapted and my girlie hog Lulu moved in downstairs and my gerbils had the upstairs. After the gerbies also sadly passed, it was adapted again for my boy Trio who moved into the top half in September. It got dragged upstairs to a warmer room today and Trio seems to be happy with the change of scenery! Each separate home is 5' long x about 2' high, double levelled with a litter tray, sand bath, wheel, kitten bed topped with blankets, a tube, a play house or tunnel, and food bowls. Neither will touch toys, I have tried with them both.

They seem super happy in there!

I get the fleece pet blankets for a couple of quid from Asda or pet shops or I get normal fleece blankets from pound shops and just chop them up

Lulu's mega viv

Post  Zoe on January 15th 2012, 5:00 pm

After Trio sadly passed away, Lulu has now inherited the whole of the viv instead of just half of it.

Here is her old half:

Here is her newly improved whole viv, I have tried to put an essential on each level so she uses them all. She is crazy about climbing and digging so I have made the bottom level into a digging pit with mealworms hidden in the wood shavings. She has logs to climb over to get around and a tube in there. The next level is her wheel and water, the next has her bed on it and a sandbath and the top has her food, water and her litter tray which she has to climb over logs to get into. I have spent all afternoon baking the logs in the oven to kill off any bugs in them so they should be safe for her.

Re: Set ups (pic heavy)

Beccy90, Branston's Christmas present looks cool!!

And pugspogs, snap to the wheel!

Right, Ill try posting pictures of my little set up (though, bear with me, Ive not done this before).
I dont have my hog yet, still waiting, but have everything ready Smile Well, everything but a ramp/ladder thing.
I had bought the little log cabin as a hideout for my hog, but decided against it as I didnt like how it splintered, didnt seem too safe. So Ive created an upper and lower level that forms a nice hideout!

That shows the whole cage. I have a heat mat in the fleece that is folded in half.

This shows the bed area Ive created. All I needed was a zoozone2 hayrack, shorts and a soft laptop cover to make this Very Happy Oh, and a little creativity...
