Post  hedgebottom on January 9th 2010, 10:47 am

ive got various sizes, ive got some at just under 3' x 2' some at 3' x 18" and some at 3'3" x 15"

3 x 2 is plenty big enough for hog and it doesnt have to be very high to add a shelf to give them more room.

sorry to hijack the thread, got a quick question, ive currently got a zoozone but was thinking of that when i get another hog i will build a tower cage one on top of another, and was wondering those that have 2 levels do the hogs find it easy to go up and down there ramps?

Hi Steven,
Generally hogs are fantastic climbers - they are just lousy at getting back down again and have very little spacial awareness (like lemmings lol!) if you grip your ramp well (myself and a lot of people on here use lolly sticks) and maybe put a barrier up incase they decide to do the jump of death off the edge you should be fine Very Happy

Thanks for all the replies, have decided to keep the vivs at 3x2ft and try and add a shelf/ another level in each
one.
Thanks again, if we ever get it built, will pop some pics on big smile

I found lolly sticks were too flat, I use wooden dowling for the ramps on mine.

For a barrier I used childrens skirting boards, so ours have star shapes cut out on them, fishes, space men and rockets.
