Help! Bleeding nose & sneezing?

Hello,

Had Rolo out for a while now and he started sneezing about 20 minutes ago and now his nose is bleeding?

Obviously not a good thing!! But anyone experienced this before?

could he have just sniffed something ticklish and the over sneeze has given him a nose bleed

I was wondering about "over" sneezing causing it, I know it can in humans but wasn't so sure about hoggies.

He's fine in himself, just worried me!!

prob just ruptured a blood vessel - easily done i guess if sneezing loads.

It's still a bit bloody, but just mixed in with a snotty runny nose I think.

Mind you, he's still sneezing every couple of minutes and he squeaked before which I've never heard him do.

How is now Lisa? Hope he is ok

what is his set up like?? Is he in a viv? Does he have enough ventilation?

Is he still sneezing a lot today? Might be a sign of a respiritory infection?

Do you line his viv/cage with sawdust???

He is in a zz2 but we've taken him off sawdust for a while cos he's making such a mess with his toilet habits (he WAS litter trained, but now has decided he doesn't want to be!)

He is still sneezing occasionally today, but his nose has swollen to literally double the size, possibly even more!!

I think he may have banged it or something cos it's quite red too.

A trip to the vets may be in store for this evening, they have no appointments but they said I can go to the emergency surgery and wait to see someone

Oh the poor thing, i wonder what he's done!

I know, I feel so sorry for him looking up at me with his gigantic nose!

He is ok in himself though, still eating and drinking and running on his wheel like a looney!! When he sneezes he looks so unimpressed cos he's had his running time disturbed.

It's the strangest thing because he was out when it happened, but he was only on the sofa with me, so can't have banged it on anything really.

In his zz2, all he has is his litter tray with wheel in it, two toys, tunnel, his igloo & the usual food & water tray at the end. So nothing he could really have hurt it on in there either?

It's a bit baffling!!

hmm, whats in his litter tray.....can it be an allergy to something?
