Paper Pellets

Paper Pellets
After being given a free bale of Finacard, the people from there emailed me and asked if I had considered trying
paper pellets in the litter tray for my hogs.
Was just wondering if any one had tried theses for their hogs? would these be safe? I would be worried about them
trying to eat them!
I have only ever used chinchilla sand in my hogs trays, and have always found this to be fine
Any thoughts?

Re: Paper Pellets
I tried them once, they seemed quite good.
They told me they're 100% pressed paper and no chemicals etc added, so will be safe.

Re: Paper Pellets
I tried it before they set up their new website and I bought 15 litres which didn't last very long with me, so I carried on using wood based cat lit which I can get cheaper, but they sell it in larger amounts now so I might start using it again as it's better (and probably safer) than wood litter!

Re: Paper Pellets
Is this the stuff that looks like mince? I was scared that they would eat this. I phoned up to ask what it was and was told not to use it but give it to a cat. Only I don't know a cat

Re: Paper Pellets
Puck munched his paper litter but the guinea pigs don't eat it; he didn't eat the wood pellets but River did so now I don't use those either. I think it's down to the individual animal and what random thing they like to eat?

Re: Paper Pellets
I got a sample of wood pellets and two of the finicard (£3 inc P&P). I decided to use the wood pellets first and around half way through the bag Sugar decided she was no longer pooing on her wheel and was using the litter tray only. I have now finished that bag and I am onto the finicard and she is back to pooing on the wheel. I think I will be buying the pellets next time.
