Re: snuggle pouch
I brought mine from a EBay seller.
I am still learning so please excuse my ignorance but if you hedgehog is trying to hibernate doesnt that mean he or she is too cold? Have you got some other form of heating in there like a protected heat mat or a snuggle safe heat pad etc etc to get temps up? I am not sure a fleece pouch would raise the temps etc. Again sorry if i am wrong as i am a newbie

Re: snuggle pouch
A lot of people get them from Crittercribz who make fab ones (Hedgebottom on here) for good prices.
And what snowball says is right, although the snuggle pouches will help to keep the draughts away and will give them some shelter - if your hog is continuously hibernating you might need to look into other forms of heating, is your room kept at a steady tempreture of around 22degrees and not allowed to drop below 20?
Does your hoggie have a hide?
You can get some fab thermometres and I use a little plug in heater which has a thermostat built in to keep the room at the right temps incase the central heating drops below during the night.
Or there are other options such as heat mats or sunggle safe pads.
It is very dangerous as I'm sure you know to let a hog drift into hibernation.

Re: snuggle pouch
Ahh okay good, to be honest I don't really know much about heat lamps as I myself and none of the people I know who have hogs use them. But glad to hear she's doing better.
She could be too hot if she's now removing all of her bedding, can the heat lamp be set to a thermostat? And what is the temp the heat lamp is set to? I'm not sure what I think about a lamp that gives off a constant heat at the same tempreture regardless of the temps in the room... Let me know this isn't the case?
http://crittercribz.co.uk/ - is the website for the pouches and loads of other great stuff, or you could contact Faith on here in person

Also the snuggle safe pads can be bought from your local pets at home and are very handy to have for cold nights/when travelling with your hoggie...

Re: snuggle pouch
Be careful with the heat lamps as they can give off a lot of heat. I only know as i use one for my Tortoises and Beardies as basking spots. Also def need them on a stat too.
With my hogs when i get them i will use a more subtle type of heating as suggested above like the a protected heat mat (on a mat stat to ensure doesnt get to hot) or the snuggle safe pad as Lexie suggested above.

If it's a heat mat you're looking into I can reccomend the ones by habistat.
Used in conjunction with a habistat thermo... Like this one:

Re: snuggle pouch
very odd, did you return the mat to the manufacturers or the shop you got it from?
If your buying another stick it on the side of the viv, underneath the air doesnt have chance to escape and they can catch fire quite easily.
