Best/cheapest wheels

Post  lexxiesmith on May 9th 2010, 2:34 pm

I have officially fallen out with Savic 12" wheels
http://www.petsathome.com/shop/giant-rolly-wheel-by-savic-15898

I had three hours sleep last night (which is bad for even me), because my pair have started to sqeak sooooooo loudly!! I've had to dish out paracetamol's in abundance to Cheiku and Floe today cos they've given themselves headaches from having a gentle sprint.
Not to mention they've started to tilt because the plastic's worn away!!

Really annoyed.

Can anyone suggest a longer lasting, cheaper, quieter alternative that's isn't a flying saucer?
Links would be good Smile

I haven't had any problems with the silent spinners, I still find them quiet and some of them are around 9 months old I had mine of ebay I found them for £13.87 and £5 for postage, but that was a one off cost so if you had 1 or 10 wheels the postage remained the same

yeah I concur with Brandygirl

SAvics are a pain when they wear - I quite like them as wheels so its a shame!! Whatever you do dont buy a 'comfort wheel' OMG they are horrific noise wise!!!

I'm not liking my flying saucer wheels anymore, i have a silent spinner which is quite good (although Americans hate them), and i also have a comfort wheel, I think I might get some more comfort wheels, this is the cheapest comfort wheel I've found (that are in stock) and is free shipping if you buy 3

I was also thinking about saving up and buying a few of these Carolina Storm Wheels so if you want some we can see if they'll do a deal!?

I've not had any problems with mine, flying saucers make more noise!
The only problem I've had with my comfort wheel is it kept falling off it's stand (poor hoggy lol) and it was easily fixed by gluing it on!

I don't like the pole bit in the middle of the comfort wheels, they made my hogs arch their backs more.

I have asked hubby to have a go at something along the Carolina Storm wheel, just need to finish getting all the bits and if it is a sucess I will let you know

yeah I dont like flying saucers neither and they move and bang about - I bought a new comfort wheel that lasted one hour until I got rid of it and Freya has a worn in comfort wheel that is still the noisiest of all my wheels (until the Savic's wear down) the silent spinners whirr fairly quietly you can jut hear the pitter patter of the hedgies feet mostly and I find the comfort wheels actually rumble!!!!!
