Hi just weighed hoggle tonight and he is only 220g is he underweight?

what does he look like from above? does he look teardrop sized or does his sides dip in a bit ? he is sounding a tad on the light side but he may just be a small hog so shape is more important

hmmmm I dont think he looks particularly underweight as such - he looks like a slim long shaped hog - whats he fed on? is he very active? He looks quite like Ripley was - no matter what I did I could never get weight on him anyway but his ancestor were small so he was just a small hog - if he is very active it would be worth not rationing his mealies and crickets so mcuh and adding a little higher fat into his food and see what happens

he has a mixture of go cat indoor, applaws 70% chicken i think it is, and pets at home adult complete with chicken, he also loves scrambled egg, has carrot mixed in and chicken and mince a few times a week and mealies, normally give him about 4-5 a night??? he wont eat fruit only the odd piece of banana but wont eat it sometimes if i put it out
he is really active on a night time, he wore the centre of his wheel out had to get him a new one

do you think i should change his diet ( the biscuits)?
and should i start giving him crickets i havent gave them before, dont think i fancy the live ones jumping around though

well the applaws is quite high fat isnt it?

increase his mealie intake a little and try him on freezedried crickets (I dont feed live - they would be everywhere!!) some suggest limiting wheel time - Ripley used to go mental at that so I used to just keep him out for longer to stop him wheeling so much - he never gained though he was just a small hog - hoggle might well be the same but try some subtle changes and see what happens over the next month

I cant remember the fat in it threw the packet away cos got it in a seperate tub already mixed
